We are facing an unprecedented global emergency. Life on Earth is in crisis: scientists agree we have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown, and we are in the midst of a mass extinction of our own making. We must act now.
OUR DEMANDS
Extinction Rebellion is an international apolitical network using non-violent direct action to persuade governments to act on the Climate and Ecological Emergency.
We have three demands.

Tell The Truth
Government must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change.

Act Now
Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.
03
BEYOND POLITICS
Government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice.
ABOUT US
Extinction Rebellion is a global movement. Our core strategy is mass disruption of city centres through nonviolent civil disobedience. We are about political change not personal change – though we welcome the latter. We act in full public view and we take responsibility for our actions.
