This meeting is for rebels new, old and curious to learn about how we are going to get a ten-fold increase in our numbers this year, and get tens of thousands of people on to the streets taking part in nonviolent civil disobedience. We all have a role to play – especially you.
One month after our last national gathering, we will check in with each other about our progress and:
– Connect you to rebels across the country, sharing stories of where we are at as we enter the fateful year of 2021
– Inspire and inform you with our plans for achieving the biggest act of mass civil disobedience in Australia’s history in 2021, starting with the wave of actions beginning on March 22nd
– Give you the concrete steps you can take to help us achieve our goals as a movement – when we say loud and clear to fellow Australians – “let’s be honest with each other, we can no longer go on like this betraying our children by destroying this beautiful land” and say to this government of ours “you do not represent us if you continue to refuse to save our children from disaster. You need to slash emissions now and stop destroying our natural heritage. This is a global emergency – and we have a major responsibility to ACT NOW”.
Each of us has a vital and valued part to play. We need to step up to mobilise everywhere – to get others involved. We need to organise our media – getting in the press and social media to get the word out there. We need to organise our mass actions – helping with nonviolence training, getting everyone to the right place at the right time, and providing all the support.
This is an emergency like no other. We are in no doubt about this anymore. Everything is at stake. Come to this gathering because life is never going to be the same again. We all know it, lets act upon it.
