This session is for people who know in their hearts and bellies that we must act now in rebellion against a government and a broken system that is failing us all.
As part of that rebellion it is our responsibility to hold our government to account in its duty of care to our children, to us and future generations.
We all know the crisis is here, its big, it’s scary …and its up to all of us to step into our courage and actively participate.
We stand on the shoulders of past movements and those that have stepped forward in acts of rebellion now (in Canberra, and all over the continent). Together we can do this, however it is going to take courage and willingness to sacrifice.
This session includes a concise presentation, testimonials and group discussions and question time and importantly it is designed to help you to find your individual pathway into XR, and get actively involved ASAP
There is a full spectrum of skills and roles urgently needed to enable sustained and prolonged Nonviolent civil resistance to force the climate crisis to the top of the agenda in the lead up and during COP26 and importantly, urgently, afterwards as the country opens up.
Together it is possible, if we all give some time, some courage and some love we can make pivotal change. Please register.
What’s happening isn’t fiction, it’s fact:
We are…the last generation that can take steps to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.
— Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General, United Nations
“We can no longer afford to assume that addressing climate change is the sole responsibility of national or local governments, or corporations or individuals. It’s time to participate in non-violent political movements wherever possible.”
― Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary of the United Nations
Framework Convention on Climate Change
We acknowledge all the traditional custodians of this land on which we rebel, who have been facing extinction and in rebellion since colonisation. Sovereignty was never ceded. We pay respects to elders past, present and emerging.
