We have two special happenings this afternoon, on top of inductions! At 3.30 pm Chantal Caruso from the Conservation Council WA will be giving a talk about the LNG industry (largely responsible for the increase in Australia’s Green House Gas emissions in recent years). From 2 pm (concurrent with inductions in another room) there will be auditions for a wicked piece of street theatre scripted by one of our members that will be performed at a XRWA FUNdraiser on 25/1/20.
If you’ve been to an induction before, you’re still wanted at XRWA NOR on Saturday afternoons, join our growing family – there’s always plans afoot, things to do, often talks and training happening and great people to get to meet or know better. For auditions info see: https://www.facebook.com/events/411624353120269/
In the morning from 8.30 to 1 there’ll be Non Violent Direct Action training – this is for everyone interested in taking action about the climate crisis, not just those considering arrest. See separate Facebook event.
Perth North meetings are every Saturday afternoon, 2-5pm. Come and hear what XR is all about, meet other people who are part of it or are thinking of becoming part of it, hear about events coming up, learn how you can become part of the movement in so many different ways, learn and share all sorts of information and skills related building an effective movement, share your feelings about the climate emergency (if you wish to), have fun and get a sense of belonging and hope from knowing you’re not facing the crisis alone and can do something positive and powerful about it with others.
Everyone is welcome, including children. We have people who are ready, willing and able to play with/supervise your children if you’re comfortable with that.
Teas and coffees are available, a gold coin donation is appreciated to cover our costs. Please bring something to eat to share at cuppa time if you wish. Donations of teas/coffee are also welcome!
Please comment below to tell us if you’re bringing children and if you have any physical needs we may be able to assist with, or if you prefer you can email us at xrwa_nor@protonmail.com. Unfortunately the venue is not wheel chair accessible, please let us know if this affects you. We are working on getting a ramp put in place or moving to a wheel chair accessible venue in the future. Until we get an accessible venue, we are happy to move temporarily to another venue we can use if we have 10 days notice that you want to come and need wheelchair access, very sorry for any inconvenience.
