20+ HRS/WEEK

FULL TIME MOBILISER
As a full time mobiliser, your main role will be to identify areas to build potential local groups. This includes organising “Heading for Extinction” talks in new areas, findings helpers for new local groups, facilitating early days of new local groups, and training local groups to become more autonomous. You’ll also be a contact point for local groups to help support them in their own mobilisation.

FULL TIME FUNDRAISER
Rebelling doesn’t come cheap! We need funds for everything from printing to actions and supporting rebels, and we need someone to have this as their sole focus. International fundraising success within XR has come from getting regular ‘charitable’ donations from members of the public at stalls, but any forms of fundraising are worthwhile. You’ll have support from the Mobilisation and Finance team, but complete autonomy to organise whatever fundraising events you want.

5 – 20 HRS/WEEK

GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Do you have or want to develop skills in graphic design? Are you a Photoshop pro or a Canva whiz? Get involved in our design sub-group! Members of the group are responsible for providing design for XRWA needs, assisting Local and Affinity Groups in using good XR-brand design, and providing templates and other resources to decentralise design.

YOUTH MOBILISER
The role of a youth mobiliser is to support young people find their place in the rebellion. This includes facilitating school and youth groups to start up and being a contact point between the youth groups and broader XRWA. This role should be filled by a youth, and ideally a high school student.

STALLS TEAM MEMBER
Calling people who want to be out on the streets, doing the groundwork: engaging in conversations with the public and promoting upcoming XR events and actions. Focusses of the stalls include getting sign ups and donations. Pick up the stalls kit with everything you need, and hit a busy street or a market. The Stalls Coordinator will be your contact point, book stalls for you if necessary, and stay in contact through the Stalls Telegram Chat.

FACEBOOK COORDINATOR
We’re looking for someone to oversee our Facebook team! Want to design and curate content in line with XRWA’s messaging strategy? This role involves creating content, managing contributors, overseeing moderation and creating events.

0 – 5 HRS/WEEK

GROW THE REBELLION COORDINATOR
XRWA’s Grow the Rebellion events are capacity building workshops which aim to inspire and integrate people into roles. The Coordinator would ensure these events are happening and communicates with relevant teams (such as mobilisation and rebel chefs), and provide a list of recruited rebels and their interests/skills to the Integration team. There is a tried and tested micro-design of how the events run, so you can simply follow the steps!

MEDIA COORDINATOR/LIAISON
Work alongside our media coordinator to publicise the actions and message of Extinction Rebellion WA through means of print and broadcast media. This includes writing and sending media releases, liaising with journalists directly, coordinating spokespeople, supporting local and affinity group actions and co-working on general strategy with the media and messaging team. Great for people looking for experience in the media and communications field, you can do lots with this role!

FLYERING COORDINATOR
If you’re a people person or could sell ice to an eskimo, this is the role for you! This role is all about getting the word out to the general public. You’d need to be able to coordinates a team of Rebels who want to flyer and act as a contact point for those in local groups who wish to flyer. Your other jobs would include administering a Telegram channel for other mobilisers, training Rebels in the flyering mobilisation method as required, and liaising with the Media and Messaging working group to distribute up to date flyer designs.

INSTAGRAM COORDINATOR
If you’re looking to get involved with the social media side of Extinction Rebellion, helping to be a part of the team that coordinates and curates our instagram would be the perfect job for you! This job involves creating or sourcing content for our feed and stories, writing on brand captions, and helping to grow our movement.

MEDIA AND MESSAGING EXTERNAL COORDINATOR
The contact point of the Mobilisation Working Group! Represents Mobilisation at fortnightly meetings of all the External Coordinators of other groups (Anchor Circle) to facilitate information flow. Checks the email account at least twice a week. Media and Messaging meets on Wednesday nights at 7:30, so if you’re considering filling this role ensure that you can make these meetings!

MEDIA AND MESSAGING INTERNAL COORDINATOR
This role involves keeping our Media and Messaging working group running smoothy. You’d be responsible for inviting new members to join the Working Group as needed (and adding new members to any communications platforms), keeping the list of Working Group members up to date so it’s clear who is in the Working Group and who isn’t, managing the information flow within the group, and checking the email account regurlarly. You’d also need to make sure you’re listening to feedback from the group members and liaising with the Regen Working Group if conflict resolution is required and substituting for the external coordinator as required.

Your other key responsibility would be to schedule meetings and ensure they’re facilitated effectively, that minutes are taken and shared regularly. Your regular meetings would be on Wednesday nights at 7:30, so if you decide to apply make sure you can attend these each week!

CLOUD LIBRARIAN
As a cloud librarian you’ll need to have good filing and organisational skills. We’re looking for someone who will be able to maintain an index file of links to various resources, keeping it up to date and accessible to XRWA Rebels and the General Public as appropriate. You’ll also need to facilitate the adding of new links and resources to this index.

SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CREATOR
Do you have or want to develop skills in social media? Do you want to tell the story of XR and the world we’re trying to create? Join our Social Media Content Creators team. You can adopt a messaging pillar and create content around a particular theme which we can share on our Facebook and Instagram.

POSTERING COORDINATOR
Covering the town with posters is a great way to reach people who wouldn’t usually have heard about us. The Posters Coordinator coordinates a team of rebels who want to get posters up. This means acting as a contact point between the broader XRWA team and local groups and individuals who want to poster. The mobilisation team will advise what needs to be advertised, and the Media and Messaging team will create the posters. Key responsibilities are monitoring the Postering telegram chat and upskilling and training rebels where necessary. This role simply requires logistics and coordination.

HOUSE/DINNER PARTY COORDINATOR
If you’re a social butterfly or a party animal, consider stepping into our Party Coordinator role. This role is all about encouraging and facilitating parties that spread the word about XRWA. Your responsibilities would include promoting dinner or house parties as a means of outreach in different networks and communities, acting as a contact point for those in local groups who wish to run parties for mobilisation, and maintaining and distributing resources to support those people.
